Why parts of this hospital are monitored, and what that means for you

Safety & securityRestricted accessNotice to visitors

Notice to patients, attendants, visitors and staff: parts of the LBKMCH campus are under CCTV surveillance for the safety and security of patients, staff and property.

Why We Use CCTV

Safety of Patients & Staff

To help keep patients, attendants, visitors and staff safe within the hospital premises.

Security of Property

To protect hospital property, equipment and medical supplies.

Incident Response

To help establish what happened if an untoward incident, dispute or emergency occurs on the premises.

Crowd & Access Management

To manage movement in busy public areas such as OPD, casualty and entry points.

How Footage Is Handled

  • Restricted access. Recorded footage is accessible only to authorised hospital personnel.
  • Limited retention. Footage is retained only for a limited period as per hospital policy, and is then overwritten in the normal course.
  • Lawful disclosure only. Footage is not shared publicly. It may be shared with the police or other competent authority where required by law, or in response to a valid legal request.
  • Clinical privacy respected. Cameras are used for safety and security in general and public areas — not to record clinical examination or treatment in place of medical records.
